GAIA is a non-profit organisation determined to protect the global future through society-centred changes. Headquartered in Brunei, GAIA strives to expand thought and build a resilient generation through impactful research and skill development programmes.
Building A Resilient Future
GAIA seeks to alleviate socio-economic issues by creating a paradigm shift amongst the younger generation through a three-phased Youth Series Model. The model begins with helping the youth build confidence before delivering a set of critical skillsets to help them navigate their next stage in life. In the final phase, the Youth Series Model provides close peer support to help participants better prepare for the future.
Harnessing Impact Through Research
Preparing the younger generation for a self-sustainable future is the heart of Global Analysis. Here, we want to get more people cognizant of global developments and its implications on their lives and their place in the world. By engaging with seasoned professionals and producing impactful research, we seek to cultivate interest in research, critical discussion, and policymaking processes in regional security issues. In doing so, we will be imparting skills and knowledge, building resilience and independence, and encouraging critical thinking to find resolutions to issues that matter.
The GAIA Approach
Youth Series Model
GAIA employs a structured approach to trigger a paradigm shift within the younger generation. Under Phase 1, Camp Wira breaks mental limits that expands self-confidence. This is complemented with the second phase, where a series of workshops help the young participants discover their skillsets and passions. The final phase provides direct mentoring to the younger generation to help them align their passions with their new-found level of confidence.
This approach has proven successful, producing highly competent and confident participants that realise their massive potential. Endowed with clearly set objectives, many move forward with a sharper focus and determination that contributes to their future, their family’s wellbeing, and the country’s economic stability.
Global Analysis Branch
The journey to expand the potential of the younger generation continues under the Global Analysis Branch. Under this initiative, GAIA conducts in-depth research, organises public seminars, releases independent publications, and builds partnerships with academic institutions and policy think tanks. This approach aims to ultimately create and build awareness on the repercussions of global and regional developments, and harness intellectual abilities through the lens of policy analysis.

A graduate in International Business Management, Hariz hopes to inspire and empower the youth in discovering self-independence through avenues such as agri-business. Also a strong plant enthusiast.
Nadeeya Salleh
Youth Series Director
Nadeeya is a lawyer by profession, catmom at heart. Her practice focuses on oil and gas and she is particularly interested in how this industry can better play its role in sustainably developing our world.

Project Manager
Experienced in the application of scientific research to the forefront of Brunei's national defence, Ayesha is inspired to develop capable and motivated youths to enhance and enforce our future.

Dr. Mu’izz Abdul Khalid
Volunteer Research Associate
Dr. Mu’izz is passionate in academic research and promoting social justice. With GAIA, Dr. Mu’izz operates both in the ivory tower of academia and at the grassroots level, bridging the gap between activism and academia. These are consistent with Dr. Mu’izz’s beliefs, which is that research should be employed for the betterment of the world.

With a background in Sociology and pursuing a Masters in international security, Wei believes that the first step to making society a better place is to exercise understanding and nurture a yearning for lifelong learning.
