GAIA runs Youth Leadership Summit 2020

From the 4th to 7th December 2020, GAIA collaborated with the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) to host the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS 2020). As the second phase of its Youth Series, YLS 2020 aimed to continue uplifting the disadvantaged youth in Brunei by providing knowledge exposure opportunities that would have otherwise been inaccessible.

The GenerationGAIA youth advanced to YLS 2020 after completing Camp Wira 2020 in September, and were pumped to receive training in a wide range of skills. Supervised by Project Coordinator Mills Wafiuddin, the 4 day-3 night YLS 2020 was conducted at Parkview Hotel to replicate a professional working environment for the 26 participants. Through engaging a number of industry experts and civil society organisations, the YLS conducted six sessions on communication, conflict resolution, critical thinking, public speaking, confidence building, and negotiation. Dr. Asyura Salleh, GAIA Co-Founder, also provided an overview on pressing regional issues which was folllowed by interactive discussion.
