Trip to the UBD Botanical Research Centre
Through the midst of their exams, our second GenGAIA Meet Up activity took place at UBD Botanical Research Centre on Sunday, 4th April 2021.
The research centre is located on a five-acre plot of heath forest that will be used for hosting international research into botany and herbal medicine. This research will hopefully be used to serve as an educational resource into sustainable use of tropical resources.
This month activity’s is a study tour hosted by the UBD BRC team, Boon and Amer, who took us around the centre introducing us to a variety of local plant life. The aim of the tour is to raise awareness to our GAIA youth on the importance of preserving local wildlife as well as to develop interest into botany and herbal medicine.
The GenGAIA youth enjoyed learning about new species and appreciated the break from the rigours of studying!
